I'm 22

I just turned 22 few days ago and all I can say is, I'm blessed that I'm finally 22. This year has taught me many things that I never thought I would embrace, I got closer to new friends, became more aware of all those relationship myths between friends/family and fell in love with this one amazing guy I never expected I would like him the way I like him now hehe. In short, being 22 is awesome! (really??!)

I celebrated my birthday by jumping out of my bed and rushing straight to the bathroom. I was late to work. I teached from 8 - 11 am and when I got home, then only I had my breakfast. Mom cooked nasi ayam special specially for me, and she even woke up at 6 cos she wanted me to have my meal before work. sigh! Its the end of 2010 and still, I have problem with time management. ishish.

next, I went to my nenek's house with mom, dad and angah. we'll be having family gathering later in the evening so we decided that we should clean the house beforehand. Rushed back home, mandi2. I took a nap for 15 mins (I was so sleepy, I'll tell you why later). we went back to nenek's house after asar and I had fun reuniting with the cousins and relatives. we had satay sponsored by one of the uncles. mom said it was some sort of celebration for my birthday as well. lol. before we got home, we stopped at this kopitiam and had some drinks. chit chat with the whole family.

so basically. this is how I celebrated my 22nd birthday. very low-key with a close knit family ties. I feel so mature and blessed :)

Que Sera Sera

we often grew up thinking that if someone really loves you, he or she would risk anything just to be with you. well, all least these are the examples shown in laila majnun, aladdin and those crappy movies, either local or international (just saying a few). We see how a woman would left his family behind just for love or man to be blinded by lust in which he thinks its real love.
I admit, it gets to me sometimes as I partly one of the believers. What I didnt realised is que sera sera. Whatever will be, will be. I do believe in fate and I believe that if things are meant to be, it will happen no matter what. We might plan thing, but its really not in our hands. :)

12th December 2009

It has been one year since I left Sydney.

And honestly, I am missing the surrounding, the people, the bus, the train, Macquarie University, the library, the lectures, the tutorials, MUV, the makan makan we had as a group of Malaysian, the random karaoke everytime we celebrated friends' birthday, my rajinness and passion in cooking (balik msia, hilang terus semangat ni), ayam penyet in chatswood, shopping along George St., SUPRE, VALLEYGIRL, GLASSONS (thank God we have Cotton On here in malaysia), Max Brenner, Lindt Cafe (awesome sangat), walk along Darling Harbour, seafood platter at Sydney Fish Market, golek2 atas rumput at Opera House, solat atas padang dan di mana sahaja :) and many more.

My graduation in Sydney will be on April 20th 2011. I realllllllly want to go. Hopefully I can make it come true.

Rindu sangat okay!

you dont have to let the girl out to be a woman

judging from my parents' experience in handling their own relationship, I must say, it's not easy. my mom is always the talkative one, while my dad is kinda the opposite. If we argued among sibs or did something wrong, its always my mom who gets angry. My dad is the cooler one. thats what happened in their relationship as well, when one side gets angry or furious, the other should never ever do the same. You gotta take turn. If one side talk, talk and talk, the other side should just listen. Same goes to my relationship. I've always been the angry one. I easily blame my partner if something goes wrong. Well its not how you deal in a relationshp. I wanted this to last long, I really do. Thus I'm willing to change and I must say , as what i've observed from my parents, it will never get easy. At least Im willing to try.

How To Style Your Hijabs

As we all know, there's a lot of styles that we can do with our hijabs. I've been learning how to do those styles from hana tajima's and amenakin's videos. At first I thought it would be kinda complicated but it is actually quite easy peasy. So, here it is!! TADAA!! my gedik poses ya'll!

a) Lycra Tudung
- bought this at Jalan TAR (so far I only have 3 colours - BLACK, MUSTARD YELLOW and GREY)

- You can also style it with headbands (sadly, I only have one)

b) Long Pashmina
- my mom posted this to Sydney for my hari raya celebration. Da lama tak pakai cos the material is quite thick (so kadang2 nampak macam sakit beguk sikit). Tapi sekarang tidak lagi, since I've tried to style it differently.

c) Short Pashmina
- got this tie dye hijab from Just Jeans, OZ! sukaaaaaaa gilos but I rarely wear it now. I think this kinda look reminds everyone of Yuna aite? The material is very light and its comfy!

d) Tassel Tudung
- also known as 'Tudung Gypsy/Tudung dgn subang). One of my faves these days! You dont have to iron it and its veryyy simple. Love 'em!

Thats all! Do not be afraid to try out different styles okay! Wearing hijabs should not be an excuse for us to look as fashionable (but in modest way) as others. ;)
